# Creating A Bonding Curve Sale

> Learn how to create a new bonding curve sale on RugFreePump.

Creating a bonding curve sale on RugFreePump involves creating your coin, configuring its metadata, selecting a token sale model, and making the creator's required initial purchase during creation.

Once the creation transaction succeeds, your bonding curve sale becomes **Live** and is available for buyers to discover and participate in.

# Before You Start

Before creating a bonding curve sale, understand the content requirements, prepare your coin information, and make sure you have enough SOL in your wallet to complete the creation transaction.

## Use Content You Have the Right to Use

When creating your coin, make sure you have the legal right to use all associated content, including **names, tickers, descriptions, images, artwork, and external links**.

In particular, do not use copyrighted artwork, images, characters, trademarks, logos, brand names, or other protected content belonging to third parties unless you have the necessary permission, license, or other lawful basis to use them.

RugFreePump does not require creators to provide proof of ownership or licensing during coin creation. However, if a rights holder reports content associated with your coin, RugFreePump may review the complaint.

If submitted content is found to infringe third-party rights or otherwise violate applicable Platform rules, RugFreePump reserves the right to remove or suppress the affected project information from its own Platform immediately and without prior notice, where appropriate.

RugFreePump may independently remove or suppress any combination of the following seven creator-submitted project information fields:

* **Coin Image:** The image may be removed from Platform displays and replaced with a neutral placeholder image icon.
* **Coin Name:** The name may be suppressed and displayed as **Not Available**.
* **Ticker Symbol:** The symbol may be suppressed and displayed as **Not Available**.
* **Description:** The description may be removed and hidden from Platform displays.
* **Website:** The website link may be removed and hidden from Platform displays.
* **X (Twitter):** The X link may be removed and hidden from Platform displays.
* **Telegram:** The Telegram link may be removed and hidden from Platform displays.

These moderation actions affect only RugFreePump's database records and Platform displays. They do not modify or delete token metadata stored on the Solana blockchain, metadata stored on IPFS or other independent storage systems, or copies maintained by third parties. RugFreePump's actions are limited to stopping the display, promotion, hosting, or other availability of the affected content through its own Platform.

Platform-level content moderation does not alter token ownership, blockchain transactions, bonding curve sale conditions, withdrawal rights, token claiming conditions, liquidity migration, or independent trading through decentralized exchanges.

Creators remain responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe upon the rights of others or violate applicable Platform rules.

## Prerequisites Checklist

Before creating a sale, make sure you have prepared the following:

* **Supported Solana Wallet:** An active, funded wallet using [Phantom](https://phantom.com) or [Solflare](https://solflare.com/).
* **Adequate SOL Balance:** Enough SOL to cover the protocol creation fee, required on-chain account rent, network fees, and your initial creator purchase.
* **Coin Name and Ticker:** A name for your coin and its ticker symbol.
* **Description:** A description explaining your coin's concept, if you want to provide one.
* **Website and Social Links:** Website and social media links, such as X or Telegram, if applicable.
* **Coin Image:** A profile image that meets the platform's upload requirements.
* **Token Sale Model:** Decide which sale model best suits your project.

## Keep Enough SOL in Your Wallet

Creating a coin and bonding curve sale requires more SOL than the amount you intend to use for your initial purchase.

Your wallet must have enough SOL to cover your initial purchase as well as the protocol, on-chain storage, and network costs required to complete the creation transaction.

### Total Wallet Balance Breakdown

Before creating your coin, make sure your wallet can cover the following:

### 1. Bonding Curve Escrow Creation Fee

A mandatory protocol fee is charged when creating a bonding curve sale.

The fee is calculated using the applicable SOL/USD price during transaction execution.

For the current **Bonding Curve Escrow Creation Fee** and its authorized update range, see [Protocol Fees](/overview/protocol-fees).

### 2. On-Chain Storage Rent

* **Requirement:** SOL is required to fund the rent-exempt balances of the Program Derived Addresses (PDAs) and other accounts required by the sale.
* **Purpose:** These accounts store the required on-chain state and data used by your coin, token configuration, bonding curve sale, and related protocol functionality.

### 3. Initial Creator Purchase

* **Requirement:** An initial purchase is required when creating a coin.
* **Amount:** The minimum purchase amount is based on approximately **\$1 USD worth of SOL**, calculated using the current SOL/USD price.

### 4. Solana Network Transaction Fees

* **Requirement:** Your wallet also needs enough SOL to pay the network fees required to process the transaction.
* **Fees:** Depending on the transaction and network conditions, this can include standard transaction fees, signature fees, compute-related fees, or prioritization fees.

<Callout type="warning" title="Keep a SOL Buffer">
  Make sure your wallet contains enough SOL to cover the combined cost of the protocol creation fee, required on-chain account rent, your initial purchase, and Solana network fees.

  If your wallet does not have enough SOL available, the creation transaction may fail during simulation or execution.

  Keeping a small additional SOL buffer in your wallet can help avoid transaction failures caused by changing network fees or transaction requirements.
</Callout>

# Open the Create Coin Page

You can start the creation process from any page on RugFreePump.

* **Navigation:** Select **Create Coin** from the main header or sidebar.
* **Direct Access:** Open the creation page directly at [rugfreepump.com/create](https://rugfreepump.com/create).

# Sign In and Connect Your Wallet

RugFreePump currently supports:

* [Phantom](https://phantom.com)
* [Solflare](https://solflare.com)

## Connect Your Wallet

When connecting for the first time, your wallet extension or mobile wallet will request permission to connect.

Approve the connection request to continue.

Connecting allows RugFreePump to identify your public wallet address. It does not give RugFreePump access to your private keys.

## Sign the Login Message

After connecting your wallet, you will be asked to sign a login message.

* **Purpose:** The signature proves that you control the connected wallet.
* **Safety:** The login signature is used for authentication and **does not transfer SOL or tokens**.

Once authentication is complete, the **Login to create coin** button changes to **Create coin**.

# Complete the Consent Process

RugFreePump allows users to explore the platform without completing consent. However, consent is required before performing financial operations such as creating a coin.

When consent is required, RugFreePump displays a consent card containing the required documents:

1. **Terms of Service**
2. **Privacy Policy**
3. **Risk Disclosure**

## Consent Steps

To complete the consent process:

1. **Review the Documents:** Use the links provided at the bottom of the consent card to read all three documents.
2. **Continue:** After reviewing the documents, select **Continue**.
3. **Sign the Consent Message:** Your wallet will ask you to sign a consent confirmation message.

The consent signature **does not transfer SOL or tokens**.

<Callout type="info" title="Policy Updates">
  Your consent remains valid for the current versions of the required documents.

  If RugFreePump publishes a new version of the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or Risk Disclosure, you may be asked to review and sign the updated documents before performing another financial operation.

  For more information, see the [RugFreePump Consent Documentation](/user-guides/rugfreepump-consent).
</Callout>

* **Recommended minimum resolution:** 1024 × 1024 pixels
* **Recommended aspect ratio:** Square (1:1)

<Callout type="warning" title="Metadata Is Permanent">
  Review your coin information carefully before approving the creation transaction.

  Once the coin is created, its **Name, Ticker, Description, Image, and Social Links** are set as part of the coin's metadata and cannot be changed afterward.
</Callout>

# Select a Token Sale Model

After entering your coin details and uploading your image, locate the **Select a token sale model** section on the creation form.

The section displays the available token sale models:

* **TU:** Token Unlocked
* **TL:** Token Locked

Select the option that best suits your project.

Your selected token sale model is recorded when the coin is created and cannot be changed afterward.

Review your selection carefully before continuing.

For more information about the available models, see [Token Sale Models](/overview/token-sale-models).

# Creator Incentive Program

When the Creator Incentive Program is active, the creation page displays information about the incentive available to eligible creators.

* **Program Changes:** The protocol can enable, disable, or change the incentive rate for future coin creations.
* **Rate Protection:** Your incentive eligibility and rate are determined when your coin is created. If the program is later disabled or the global rate changes, your existing sale keeps the incentive configuration associated with it at creation.
* **Payout Timing:** The incentive is paid when the sale successfully reaches its hard cap and liquidity migration is successfully completed.

For the current **Token Creator Incentive** and its authorized update range, see [Protocol Fees](/overview/protocol-fees).

# Sale Lifetime

Every bonding curve sale has a fixed lifetime determined when the sale is created.

* **Time Window:** The protocol currently allows a sale lifetime between **24 and 48 hours**.
* **Precise Duration:** The lifetime is configured in seconds, so it does not have to be a whole number of hours. For example, a sale could have a lifetime of 24 hours, 25.1 hours, or another duration within the allowed range.
* **Fixed for Each Sale:** Once created, the lifetime is fixed for that individual sale.
* **Future Changes:** If the protocol changes the lifetime configuration later, the change applies only to newly created sales. Existing sales are not affected.

## Sale Outcomes

A sale can end in one of two ways:

* **Completed:** The sale reaches its hard cap before its lifetime expires and can proceed to liquidity migration.
* **Expired:** The sale lifetime expires before the hard cap is reached and does not proceed to liquidity migration.

# Choose Your Initial Purchase

After entering your coin information and signing in, select **Create coin**.

A creator purchase panel will open.

The panel displays your wallet balance along with:

* The SOL amount you want to spend
* **Reset**
* **Max**
* The estimated number of tokens allocated to your purchase

## Initial Purchase Rules

Your initial purchase is the first purchase made in your newly created bonding curve sale.

### Initial Purchase Is Required

An initial purchase is **mandatory** when creating a coin.

The minimum purchase amount is based on approximately **\$1 USD worth of SOL** and is calculated using the current SOL/USD price.

The minimum purchase requirement is enforced by both the UI input and the on-chain program. If you enter an amount below the required minimum, the input automatically adjusts the amount to the minimum permitted value.

### Purchase Amount and Buy Fee

The amount you enter is the **purchase amount**, not the net amount that is ultimately used by the bonding curve.

A **Buy Fee** is deducted from each purchase, and the remaining amount is used as the net bonding-curve sale contribution.

The number of tokens allocated to your purchase is calculated by the bonding curve using the applicable SOL/USD price at the time the transaction is processed.

Purchased tokens remain in a protocol-controlled token account during fundraising. They become available to claim only after successful liquidity migration, according to the selected token sale model.

For the current **Buy Fee** and its authorized update range, see [Protocol Fees](/overview/protocol-fees).

## Reset

Select **Reset** to clear the entered purchase amount.

## Max

Select **Max** to automatically use the maximum available purchase amount.

If your wallet balance is greater than the maximum amount permitted by the sale, **Max** uses the maximum permitted amount rather than your entire wallet balance.

You should still keep enough SOL in your wallet to cover the protocol creation fee, required account rent, and Solana network fees.

# Create the Coin

Once you enter a valid initial purchase amount, the **Create coin** button becomes available.

Select **Create coin** to begin the creation process.

If you have not completed the required consent process, RugFreePump will ask you to complete it before continuing.

The creation process then proceeds through several stages.

## Step 1: Uploading Metadata and Preparing the Transaction

RugFreePump first uploads and prepares your coin metadata and creation transaction.

You will see a status such as:

> Uploading Metadata & Preparing The Transaction...

Keep the creation window open while this process is running.

Do not close or reload the page.

## Step 2: Approve the Transaction

After the metadata and transaction are prepared, your wallet will request transaction approval.

The creation window will show:

> Waiting For Transaction Approval...

Review the transaction in your wallet and approve it if everything is correct.

Do not close or reload the creation window while the process is running.

## Step 3: Wait for Transaction Confirmation

After approving the transaction, RugFreePump waits for the transaction to be confirmed on Solana.

The creation window will show:

> Waiting For Transaction Confirmation...

## Step 4: Preparing Your Sale Page

Once the transaction succeeds, RugFreePump processes the resulting transaction data so your new sale can be displayed.

You may briefly see:

> Transaction Succeeded. Waiting For Transaction data To Map The Sale Page...

You do not need to take any additional action during this step.

RugFreePump automatically redirects you to your newly created sale page.

# If You Cancel the Transaction

If you reject the wallet request before submitting the transaction, the creation does not complete and no sale is created.

If the transaction was submitted but confirmation times out, its final status may be uncertain. Check the transaction status before attempting to create the coin again.

When a creation attempt is canceled or fails before the transaction is submitted, RugFreePump cleans up the metadata and temporary resources prepared for the attempted creation.

<Callout type="warning" title="Cleanup in Progress">
  During the cleanup process, the creation window remains locked and displays:

  **IPFS Metadata Cleanup Is In Progress...**

  Keep the window open until the cleanup finishes.
</Callout>

After cleanup is complete, you can:

* Try creating the coin again
* Change your coin name, ticker, description, or other information
* Change your initial purchase amount
* Leave the creation page

# Your Sale Is Live

After a successful creation transaction, you are automatically redirected to your new sale page.

The newly created bonding curve sale starts in the **Live** state and is immediately available for buyers to discover and participate in.

## Bonding Curve Pool Information

The sale page displays the main information about your bonding curve sale.

This includes:

* **Sale Model:** The selected sale model: **Token Unlocked** or **Token Locked**.
* **Pool Address:** The on-chain account associated with the bonding curve sale and its raised funds.
* **Total Supply:** The total supply of the coin.
* **Tokens For Sale:** The portion of the supply available through the bonding curve.
* **Tokens For Liquidity:** The portion of the supply reserved for liquidity after a successful migration.
* **Token Unlock Amount (TL Only):** The percentage of purchased tokens that becomes available to claim during each unlock interval.
* **Token Unlock Interval (TL Only):** The time between successive token unlocks.
* **Token Unlock Activate (TL Only, After Migration):** The timestamp when the token unlock schedule was activated following successful liquidity migration.
* **Hard Cap:** The maximum amount the sale can raise.
* **Start Time:** When the sale became Live.
* **End Time:** When the sale lifetime expires.
* **Listing On:** The DEX where liquidity will be created after a successful migration.
* **LP Tokens:** Information about how liquidity-provider tokens are handled after migration.

## Track Sale Progress

While the sale is Live, the sale page displays its current progress.

Your initial creator purchase is included in these figures.

The sale information includes:

* **Countdown Timer:** The remaining time until the sale lifetime expires.
* **Sale Status:** The current state of the bonding curve sale.
* **Raised SOL:** The amount of SOL raised by the sale.
* **Raised USD:** The USD value associated with the raised amount.
* **Sale Progress:** The percentage of the hard cap reached.
* **Tokens Sold:** The number of tokens purchased through the sale.
* **Total Buyers:** The number of unique buyers who participated in the sale.
* **Contributions:** Purchases made during the sale, including the contributor, SOL amount, USD value, tokens purchased, time, and transaction.
* **Top Holders:** Wallets holding the largest portions of the coin's token supply.

## Understanding Sale Statuses

Your sale progresses according to its funding and lifetime conditions.

* **Live:** The sale is active and accepting purchases.
* **Completed:** The sale has reached its hard cap and can proceed to liquidity migration.
* **Expired:** The sale lifetime ended before the hard cap was reached.

The normal sale lifecycle is:

**Live → Completed → Migrated**

or:

**Live → Expired**

Only a **Completed** sale proceeds to liquidity migration.

An **Expired** sale does not proceed to liquidity migration. Contributors can instead use the withdrawal process described in the [**Withdrawing Contributed SOL**](/user-guides/for-token-buyers/withdrawing-contributed-sol) guide.

# What's Next?

If your bonding curve sale reaches its hard cap and becomes **Completed**, you can proceed with liquidity migration to **Raydium CPMM**.

Learn what happens next:

[**Migrating Raised Liquidity**](/user-guides/for-token-creators/migrating-raised-liquidity)

After a successful liquidity migration, buyers can claim their purchased tokens according to the selected token sale model. This also applies to the creator's initial purchase.

For more information, see [Claiming Purchased Tokens](/user-guides/for-token-buyers/claiming-purchased-tokens).
