RugFreePump is built for users who want to participate in token fundraising on Solana without needing to understand the underlying blockchain technology. Before using RugFreePump, you need three basic things:
  • A supported Solana wallet.
  • SOL in that wallet.
  • A modern web browser.
This guide walks you through everything you need to get your wallet ready and connect it to RugFreePump.

What You Need

The minimum requirements are simple:

A Solana Wallet

RugFreePump currently supports:
  • Phantom
  • Solflare
Your wallet holds your assets and authorizes transactions on the Solana blockchain. RugFreePump does not custody your wallet or hold your private keys. You remain in control of your wallet and its assets.

SOL

You need SOL in your wallet to use RugFreePump. SOL is used for:
  • Solana network transaction fees.
  • Purchasing tokens through RugFreePump.
  • Other blockchain operations that require SOL.
The amount of SOL you need depends on what you plan to do. If you only want to explore the platform, you do not need to fund your wallet immediately. If you plan to purchase tokens or create a sale, make sure your wallet contains enough SOL for both the operation and the required network fees.

A Modern Browser

RugFreePump works through a modern web browser. You can use desktop or mobile browsers, depending on the wallet and device you choose. Keep your browser and wallet software up to date to reduce avoidable security risks.

Choosing a Wallet

RugFreePump currently supports Phantom and Solflare. Both are non-custodial Solana wallets that allow you to hold SOL and tokens, connect to decentralized applications, and approve blockchain transactions. You do not need to choose between multiple wallet types or configure special blockchain software. Simply use either Phantom or Solflare.

Phantom

Phantom is a widely used wallet for the Solana ecosystem and is available on supported browsers and mobile devices. If Phantom is not installed when you try to connect your wallet to RugFreePump, the RugFreePump interface can guide you to get it. Always make sure you download Phantom from its official website or official application store listing.

Solflare

Solflare is a Solana-focused wallet available for supported browsers and mobile devices. If Solflare is not installed when you try to connect your wallet to RugFreePump, the RugFreePump interface can guide you to get it. Always make sure you download Solflare from its official website or official application store listing.

Which One Should You Choose?

For normal RugFreePump use, either supported wallet is suitable. Choose the wallet that you are most comfortable using and that is available on your device. RugFreePump does not require you to hold funds in a separate RugFreePump account. Your connected wallet is used to authorize your blockchain activity.

Creating a Wallet

If you do not already have a Phantom or Solflare wallet, you can create one through the wallet provider’s official setup process. When creating a new wallet, the wallet will provide recovery credentials that allow you to restore access to it. Depending on the wallet, these may be referred to as a:
  • Recovery phrase.
  • Secret recovery phrase.
  • Seed phrase.
Treat these credentials as the master key to your wallet.

Protect Your Recovery Credentials

When creating your wallet:
  • Write down your recovery phrase and store it securely.
  • Never share it with anyone.
  • Never send it through messages, email, or social media.
  • Never enter it into a website claiming to be RugFreePump support.
  • Never enter it into an unknown website or application.
  • Do not store it publicly online.
  • Be extremely careful when creating digital copies of it.
RugFreePump will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who obtains your recovery credentials may be able to gain control of your wallet and its assets. For detailed wallet security guidance, see Trust & Safety.

Your Wallet Address

After creating a wallet, you will have a public wallet address. Your wallet address can be used to receive SOL and supported tokens. It is safe to share your public wallet address when someone needs to send assets to you. Your wallet address is different from your private key or recovery phrase.
Public address: used to receive assets. Private key / recovery phrase: used to control the wallet and must remain secret.
Never provide your private key or recovery phrase to another person or website.

Funding Your Wallet

Once your wallet is ready, you can add SOL to it. There are several ways to obtain SOL, depending on where your funds currently are.

Buying SOL Through an Exchange

If you already use a cryptocurrency exchange that supports SOL, you can purchase SOL there and withdraw it to your Solana wallet. The general process is:
  1. Purchase or obtain SOL through your exchange.
  2. Open your Phantom or Solflare wallet.
  3. Copy your wallet’s public address.
  4. Open the withdrawal section of your exchange.
  5. Select SOL as the asset.
  6. Enter your Solana wallet address.
  7. Make sure the withdrawal network is Solana.
  8. Carefully verify the destination address.
  9. Confirm the withdrawal.
Always verify the destination address and network before confirming a withdrawal. If you are transferring a significant amount for the first time, consider sending a small test amount first.

Buying SOL Through a Wallet

Depending on your location and wallet provider, Phantom or Solflare may offer integrated options for purchasing cryptocurrency. If available, you can follow the wallet’s own instructions to purchase SOL. Third-party payment providers may require identity verification or other information. Availability, fees, payment methods, and supported countries are determined by the wallet and its payment providers, not by RugFreePump.

Transferring SOL From Another Wallet

If you already have SOL in another Solana wallet, you can send it directly to your Phantom or Solflare wallet address. Before sending:
  • Confirm that the destination address is correct.
  • Confirm that you are sending SOL on the Solana network.
  • Consider sending a small test transaction first if you are unfamiliar with the process.
Blockchain transfers are generally irreversible once confirmed.

Keep Some SOL for Network Fees

Do not use your entire wallet balance for a purchase or other operation. Solana transactions require network fees, so keep some SOL available for future transactions. The amount required can vary depending on the transaction and network conditions. Keeping a small amount of SOL available helps prevent failed transactions caused by an insufficient balance.

Connecting Your Wallet to RugFreePump

Once you have a supported wallet and some SOL, you are ready to connect it to RugFreePump. The process is simple:
  1. Visit the official RugFreePump website.
  2. Click Sign In button.
  3. Choose Phantom or Solflare.
  4. Review the connection request in your wallet.
  5. Approve the connection if the request is expected.
If you do not have either supported wallet installed, RugFreePump can indicate that the wallet is not installed and provide a path to obtain it from the wallet provider’s official website. Only install wallets from their official sources.

Review Transactions Before Approving Them

Connecting your wallet and approving a blockchain transaction are different actions. When RugFreePump asks your wallet to approve a transaction, review the request before signing it. Make sure:
  • You initiated the action.
  • You are using the correct website.
  • The requested operation is what you intended to perform.
  • The wallet is showing the expected transaction.
Never approve a transaction just because a website tells you to do so to continue. If something looks unexpected, reject the request and investigate before continuing.

Before You Start Using RugFreePump

Before participating in a sale, make sure you understand the basics of wallet security. Remember:
  • Your wallet belongs to you.
  • Your private key and recovery phrase must remain private.
  • RugFreePump will never ask for them.
  • Blockchain transactions can be irreversible.
  • Always verify the website before connecting your wallet.
  • Review wallet transaction requests before approving them.
  • Keep enough SOL available for network fees.
