Buying tokens on RugFreePump allows you to participate in an active bonding curve sale using SOL. Before buying, review the sale information, understand how the purchase works, and make sure your wallet has enough SOL to cover the purchase and associated transaction costs. Once your purchase transaction succeeds, the purchased tokens are allocated to your wallet’s purchase record and remain held by the protocol until they become available to claim after successful liquidity migration. Your contribution becomes part of the sale’s raised funds.

Before You Start

Before buying tokens, make sure you understand the sale you are participating in and have enough SOL in your wallet to complete the purchase transaction.

Review the Sale Carefully

Before purchasing, review the information displayed on the sale page to understand the token, bonding curve sale, and its current progress. The sale page displays:
  • Mint Key: The unique on-chain address that identifies the token. Verify the Mint Key to confirm that you are buying the correct token.
  • Coin Name and Ticker: Confirm that the displayed name and ticker match the coin you intended to purchase.
  • Sale Model: The selected sale model: Token Unlocked or Token Locked.
  • Pool Address: The on-chain account associated with the bonding curve sale and its raised funds.
  • Total Supply: The total supply of the coin.
  • Tokens For Sale: The portion of the supply available through the bonding curve.
  • Tokens For Liquidity: The portion of the supply reserved for liquidity after a successful migration.
  • Token Unlock Amount (TL Only): The percentage of purchased tokens that becomes available to claim during each unlock interval.
  • Token Unlock Interval (TL Only): The time between successive token unlocks.
  • Token Unlock Activate (TL Only, After Migration): The timestamp when the token unlock schedule was activated following successful liquidity migration.
  • Hard Cap: The maximum amount the sale can raise.
  • Start Time: When the sale became Live.
  • End Time: When the sale lifetime expires.
  • Listing On: The DEX where liquidity will be created after a successful migration.
  • LP Tokens: Information about how liquidity-provider tokens are handled after migration.
  • Countdown Timer: The remaining time until the sale lifetime expires.
  • Sale Status: The current state of the bonding curve sale. Make sure the sale is Live before attempting to purchase.
  • Raised SOL: The amount of SOL raised by the sale.
  • Raised USD: The USD value associated with the raised amount.
  • Sale Progress: The percentage of the hard cap reached.
  • Tokens Sold: The number of tokens purchased through the sale.
  • Total Buyers: The number of unique buyers who participated in the sale.
  • Contributions: Purchases made during the sale, including the contributor, SOL amount, USD value, tokens purchased, time, and transaction.
  • Top Holders: Wallets holding the largest portions of the coin’s token supply.
Review this information carefully before purchasing. The sale page data can change as other users participate, and the current sale state determines whether purchases are still accepted. Before purchasing, review the selected token sale model and understand when your purchased tokens will become available to claim. For more information, see Token Sale Models.

Prerequisites Checklist

Before buying tokens, make sure you have the following:
  • Supported Solana Wallet: An active, funded wallet using Phantom or Solflare.
  • Adequate SOL Balance: Enough SOL to cover your purchase amount, the applicable Buy Fee, Solana network fees, and any selected transaction priority fee.
  • Active Sale: The bonding curve sale must still be in the Live state.

Keep Enough SOL in Your Wallet

Buying tokens requires more SOL than the amount that ultimately becomes your net bonding curve sale contribution. Your wallet must have enough SOL to cover the purchase amount and the fees required to process the transaction.

Total Wallet Balance Breakdown

Before buying, make sure your wallet can cover the following:

1. Purchase Amount

The amount you enter in the purchase panel is the amount of SOL you are attempting to spend on the purchase. The purchase amount is subject to the current limits of the sale and your available wallet balance.

2. Buy Fee

A Buy Fee is deducted from each bonding curve sale purchase. The remaining amount is used as the net bonding curve sale contribution for calculating the tokens allocated to your purchase. For the current Buy Fee and its authorized update range, see Protocol Fees.

3. Solana Network Transaction Fees

Your wallet also needs enough SOL to pay the Solana network fees required to process the transaction. These are separate from RugFreePump protocol fees.

4. Transaction Priority Fee

If you select a transaction priority level, an additional Solana priority fee is included with your transaction. The priority fee is a network fee and is separate from the RugFreePump Buy Fee.
Make sure your wallet contains enough SOL to cover your purchase amount, the applicable Buy Fee, Solana network fees, and your selected priority fee.Keeping a small additional SOL buffer can help avoid transaction failures caused by the total transaction cost exceeding your available balance.

Open the Sale Page

You can discover bonding curve sales through RugFreePump and open the sale page for the coin you want to purchase. Each sale has its own dedicated sale page. The sale page displays the current state of the bonding curve sale and provides the interface for purchasing tokens. Before purchasing, confirm that the sale is Live.

Sign In and Connect Your Wallet

You can explore sale pages without connecting your wallet. However, you must connect and authenticate your wallet before buying tokens. RugFreePump currently supports:

Connect Your Wallet

When connecting for the first time, your wallet extension or mobile wallet will request permission to connect. Approve the connection request to continue. Connecting allows RugFreePump to identify your public wallet address. It does not give RugFreePump access to your private keys.

Sign the Login Message

After connecting your wallet, you may be asked to sign a login message.
  • Purpose: The signature proves that you control the connected wallet.
  • Safety: The login signature is used for authentication and does not transfer SOL or tokens.
Once authentication is complete, the purchase controls become available when the sale is eligible for purchases.

Complete the Consent Process

RugFreePump allows users to explore the platform without completing consent. However, consent is required before performing financial operations such as buying tokens. When consent is required, RugFreePump displays a consent card containing the required documents:
  1. Terms of Service
  2. Privacy Policy
  3. Risk Disclosure
To complete the consent process:
  1. Review the Documents: Use the links provided at the bottom of the consent card to read all three documents.
  2. Continue: After reviewing the documents, select Continue.
  3. Sign the Consent Message: Your wallet will ask you to sign a consent confirmation message.
The consent signature does not transfer SOL or tokens.
Your consent remains valid for the current versions of the required documents. If RugFreePump publishes a new version of the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or Risk Disclosure, you may be asked to review and sign the updated documents before performing another financial operation. For more information, see the RugFreePump Consent Documentation.

Understand the Bonding Curve Sale

RugFreePump bonding curve sales use a pricing curve where the token price changes as the sale progresses. As more tokens are purchased and the sale raises more funds, the purchase price generally increases. This means the number of tokens allocated to your purchase for a given amount of SOL can change as other users purchase tokens. The purchase calculation uses the applicable SOL/USD price when the transaction is processed.

Fixed Token Supply

Every RugFreePump bonding curve sale has a total supply of 1 billion tokens. The supply is divided between:
  • 800 million tokens: Available through the bonding curve sale.
  • 200 million tokens: Reserved for liquidity after a successful migration.
These allocations are fixed by the protocol and are not configured separately for each sale.

Understanding Sale Statuses

The state of the sale determines whether you can purchase tokens and what happens to your contribution afterward.

Live

A Live sale is active and accepting purchases. While a sale is Live:
  • You can purchase tokens if you meet the purchase requirements.
  • The bonding curve pricing model continues to determine the token price.
  • The sale progress can increase as users purchase tokens.
  • The remaining sale lifetime continues to count down.
  • The sale can eventually become Completed or Expired.

Completed

A Completed sale has reached its hard cap before its lifetime expired. A Completed sale no longer accepts bonding curve purchases. The sale then enters the liquidity migration stage.

Liquidity Migration Pending

After the sale becomes Completed, the pool creator is given an approximately 60-minute migration reminder period to prepare for liquidity migration. The creator can still initiate migration after this period ends. During this period, it is normal for the liquidity to remain unmigrated. The timer does not automatically migrate the liquidity, expire the sale, cancel the sale, or make your contribution withdrawable. If the creator completes migration, the sale becomes Migrated. If the timer expires without migration and you experience delays or concerns, contact RugFreePump support so the situation can be reviewed.

Migrated

A Migrated sale has successfully completed liquidity migration to Raydium CPMM. The bonding curve sale is no longer active. The liquidity pool has been created using the sale’s raised funds and the tokens reserved for liquidity. The liquidity-provider tokens are automatically burned as part of the migration process. After migration, the tokens are available for public trading through the created Raydium liquidity pool. After a successful migration, buyers can claim their purchased tokens based on the sale’s selected token sale model. Token Unlocked (TU) purchases become fully claimable immediately, while Token Locked (TL) purchases become claimable gradually according to the sale’s unlock schedule. For more information, see Claiming Purchased Tokens. A Migrated sale does not become withdrawable through the bonding curve withdrawal process.

Expired

An Expired sale is a sale whose lifetime ended before reaching its hard cap. An Expired sale does not proceed to liquidity migration. If you contributed SOL to an Expired sale, you can use the withdrawal process to recover your contributed SOL. For more information, see Withdrawing Contributed SOL.

Canceled

A Canceled sale is an exceptional state used when a sale is canceled through an authorized cancellation mechanism. Canceled sales do not proceed to liquidity migration. If you contributed SOL to a Canceled sale, you can withdraw your contributed SOL through the withdrawal process. For more information, see Withdrawing Contributed SOL.
The normal lifecycle is:Live → Completed → MigratedA sale can instead become:Live → ExpiredCancellation is an exceptional outcome and is not part of the normal sale lifecycle.

Configure Your Purchase

Once your wallet is connected and the sale is Live, the purchase panel allows you to configure your transaction. The panel displays information such as:
  • Your current wallet balance
  • The SOL amount you want to spend
  • Reset
  • Max
  • Max Slippage
  • Transaction Priority
  • The estimated number of tokens allocated to your purchase

Purchase Amount

Enter the amount of SOL you want to use for the purchase. The amount you enter represents the purchase amount before the Buy Fee is deducted. The estimated token amount shown in the purchase panel is based on the current sale price and applicable SOL/USD price. Because the bonding curve price can change as the sale progresses, the final token amount is determined when the transaction is processed.

Reset

Select Reset to clear the entered purchase amount. You can then enter a different amount.

Max

Select Max to automatically set the purchase amount to the maximum amount currently permitted. Max considers both your wallet balance and the current purchase limit imposed by the sale.
  • If your wallet balance is lower than the current maximum permitted purchase amount, Max uses your available wallet balance.
  • If your wallet balance is greater than the current maximum permitted purchase amount, Max uses the exact maximum amount currently permitted by the sale.
The maximum permitted amount can change as the sale progresses or your wallet balance changes. You should still keep enough SOL available for the Solana network fees.

Set Max Slippage

Max Slippage controls how much the final purchase conditions are allowed to differ from the expected purchase conditions before the transaction is rejected. RugFreePump allows a slippage setting between 0% and 50%.

0% Slippage

A setting of 0% requires the transaction to execute at the exact expected purchase conditions. This provides the strictest protection against price movement but can cause the transaction to fail if the sale changes before the transaction is processed.

Higher Slippage

A higher slippage setting allows a greater difference between the expected and final purchase conditions. This can reduce failures caused by price movement, but it also means you accept a wider range of execution conditions. If the sale moves beyond your selected slippage tolerance, the transaction fails instead of executing outside the limit you specified.
Higher slippage does not guarantee a successful transaction. It only increases the amount of price movement your transaction is willing to accept.

Select Transaction Priority

RugFreePump provides three fixed transaction priority options. Higher priority levels are intended to give the transaction greater processing priority over transactions using lower priority levels. These priority tiers are fixed and are not dynamically adjusted based on network conditions. The priority fee is a Solana network fee, not a RugFreePump protocol fee.
If a transaction is processed by the network but ultimately fails, the selected priority fee may still be charged by the network.

Buy Tokens

After configuring your purchase amount, slippage, and transaction priority, select Buy to begin the purchase. The purchase process proceeds through several stages.

Step 1: Prepare the Transaction

After selecting Buy, RugFreePump prepares the purchase transaction using your selected purchase settings. You will see a status such as:
Preparing The Transaction…
Keep the sale page open while the transaction is being prepared.

Step 2: Approve the Transaction

After the transaction is prepared, your wallet will request transaction approval. The sale page will show:
Waiting For Transaction Approval…
Review the transaction in your wallet and approve it if everything is correct. Do not approve a transaction you don’t understand or didn’t intentionally initiate.

Step 3: Wait for Transaction Confirmation

After you approve the transaction, RugFreePump waits for it to be confirmed on Solana. The sale page will show:
Waiting For Transaction Confirmation…
Keep the page open while it confirms.

Step 4: Purchase Completed

Once the transaction confirms successfully, your purchase is complete. The purchased tokens are recorded under your wallet address and remain held in the sale’s token account until they become available to claim after successful liquidity migration. Your contribution is reflected in the sale’s raised amount and contribution records.

If You Cancel the Transaction

If you reject the wallet request, the transaction does not complete. Your intended purchase is not executed. If the transaction fails during simulation or execution, the purchase may also not complete. Depending on when the transaction was processed, Solana network fees or selected priority fees may still be charged even when the purchase itself does not succeed. If the transaction fails, review the displayed error and make sure:
  • Your wallet has enough SOL.
  • The sale is still Live.
  • Your purchase amount is within the current permitted limits.
  • Your selected slippage is appropriate for the current sale conditions.
  • Your transaction settings are correct.
You can then try again if the sale is still eligible for purchases.

After Your Purchase

After a successful purchase, the tokens you bought are recorded under your wallet address but are not immediately transferred to your wallet. The purchased tokens remain held in the sale’s token account until the sale successfully completes liquidity migration. You can then claim them according to the selected token sale model. The sale page updates to reflect your contribution and the new sale progress. Your purchase may affect:
  • The current bonding curve sale price
  • The remaining amount available before the hard cap
  • The sale progress
  • The total tokens sold
  • The total number of buyers
  • The contribution history
The token amount you receive is determined by the bonding curve pricing model and the applicable purchase conditions when the transaction is processed.

What Happens When the Sale Completes

A sale becomes Completed when it reaches its hard cap. At this point:
  • New bonding curve purchases are no longer accepted.
  • The sale enters the liquidity migration stage.
  • The creator has a 60-minute migration window.
  • Your purchased token allocation remains held by the sale’s token account.
During the migration window, it is normal for the sale page to display:
This pool has completed
along with:
Liquidity Migration Pending
The migration timer is only a reminder of the creator’s migration window. It does not automatically change the sale’s state when it expires.

After Successful Migration

When liquidity migration succeeds:
  • The sale becomes Migrated.
  • Liquidity is created on Raydium CPMM.
  • The tokens reserved for liquidity are added to the liquidity pool.
  • Liquidity-provider tokens are automatically burned.
  • Your purchased tokens become available to claim according to the sale’s selected token sale model.
  • The token becomes available for public trading through the migrated liquidity pool.
For the claiming process, see Claiming Purchased Tokens.

What Happens If the Sale Expires

If the sale lifetime expires before the hard cap is reached:
  • The sale becomes Expired.
  • New bonding curve sale purchases are no longer accepted.
  • The sale does not proceed to liquidity migration.
  • Eligible contributors can withdraw their contributed SOL.
The purchased tokens are not released through the claiming process. Contributors can instead withdraw their contributed SOL through the withdrawal process. For the withdrawal process, see Withdrawing Contributed SOL.

What Happens If a Sale Is Canceled

A sale can be canceled only through an authorized exceptional cancellation mechanism. If a sale becomes Canceled:
  • New bonding curve purchases are no longer accepted.
  • The sale does not proceed to liquidity migration.
  • Eligible contributors can withdraw their eligible contributed SOL.
The purchased tokens are not released through the claiming process. Contributors can instead withdraw their contributed SOL through the withdrawal process. For the withdrawal process, see Withdrawing Contributed SOL.

Purchase Risks

Buying tokens through a bonding curve sale involves financial and technical risks. The purchase page explains how to use the interface, but it does not replace the broader risk documentation. Before purchasing, review the relevant sections of the Security & Risk documentation, and understand the risks before committing SOL to any bonding curve sale.

Buying Summary

The complete buying process is:
  1. Review the Sale: Confirm the coin, pool, selected token sale model, sale progress, hard cap, countdown, and current status.
  2. Connect Your Wallet: Connect Phantom or Solflare and authenticate your wallet.
  3. Complete Consent: Review and sign the required consent documents.
  4. Check Your SOL: Make sure you have enough SOL for the purchase and associated fees.
  5. Set Your Purchase: Enter the SOL amount you want to spend.
  6. Set Max Slippage: Choose the amount of price movement you are willing to accept.
  7. Select Priority: Choose Fast, Turbo, or Ultra transaction priority if desired.
  8. Buy: Select Buy and approve the transaction in your wallet.
  9. Confirm: Wait for the transaction to be confirmed on Solana.
  10. Purchase Confirmed: After successful confirmation, your purchased tokens are allocated to your wallet’s purchase record and held by the sale’s token account.
  11. Follow the Sale Outcome: If the sale becomes Completed, wait for liquidity migration. If it becomes Migrated, liquidity is available on Raydium, and you can claim purchased tokens under the selected sale model. If it becomes Expired or Canceled, contributors can withdraw their contributed SOL through the withdrawal process.

What’s Next?

After purchasing, the outcome depends on how the sale progresses. If the sale reaches its hard cap, it becomes Completed and proceeds to the liquidity migration stage. If liquidity migration succeeds, the sale becomes Migrated and the liquidity becomes available for public trading on Raydium. After a successful liquidity migration, you can claim your purchased tokens based on the selected Token Unlocked (TU) or Token Locked (TL) sale model. For the claiming process, see Claiming Purchased Tokens. If the sale expires before reaching its hard cap, or is canceled through an exceptional mechanism, contributors can withdraw the contributed SOL through the withdrawal process.
