Understanding the Models
During an active bonding curve sale, buyers contribute SOL in exchange for a purchased token allocation recorded on-chain. Purchased tokens are not immediately transferred to buyers’ wallets. Instead, they remain in the protocol-controlled token account until the applicable claiming conditions are met. Once the sale reaches its fundraising threshold and liquidity migration to Raydium CPMM succeeds, buyers can claim tokens according to the selected model:- Token Unlocked (TU): The entire purchased token allocation becomes claimable immediately after successful migration.
- Token Locked (TL): The purchased token allocation becomes claimable gradually according to a predefined unlock schedule.
Token Unlocked (TU)
Token Unlocked (TU) allows buyers to claim 100% of their purchased token allocation as soon as liquidity migration is successfully completed. There is no gradual unlock schedule or additional waiting period after migration. Buyers initiate a claiming transaction to receive their purchased tokens in their wallets. TU makes tokens fully available after migration, allowing buyers to hold, transfer, or trade their claimed tokens without protocol-imposed unlock restrictions.Token Locked (TL)
Token Locked (TL) makes purchased tokens available gradually after successful liquidity migration, according to the unlock settings recorded when the sale was created.Current Token Unlock Settings
The following settings apply to newly created TL sales:
An additional 10% of each buyer’s purchased allocation becomes claimable every 30 minutes, starting 30 minutes after successful liquidity migration. The entire allocation becomes available after 5 hours.
Example: Unlocking 100,000 Purchased Tokens
Suppose a buyer purchases 100,000 tokens in a TL sale using the current settings.
The amounts shown are cumulative and include any tokens already claimed.
Buyers do not need to claim tokens every 30 minutes. Unclaimed unlocked tokens remain available for later claiming.
For example, a buyer who waits 2 hours 30 minutes without claiming can claim 50,000 tokens in one transaction. If they have already claimed 20,000 tokens, the remaining claimable amount at that time is 30,000 tokens.
Claiming unlocked tokens does not accelerate the release of tokens that remain locked.
Permanent Token Unlock Settings
TL unlock settings are configured at the protocol level and recorded individually for each sale when it is created. Once a TL sale is created, its token unlock percentage and interval are permanent. RugFreePump administrators may change the settings for future TL sales, but existing sales retain their original conditions. This document reflects the current settings for newly created TL sales. Buyers should review the settings associated with a specific sale, as older sales may have different token unlock terms.TU vs TL: Key Differences
Both models require successful liquidity migration and a buyer-initiated claiming transaction. Neither model transfers purchased tokens to buyers’ wallets during the active fundraising phase.
For Token Creators
The token sale model determines how contributors access their purchased tokens after successful liquidity migration. Creators should choose the model that best fits their project’s distribution approach and clearly communicate its conditions.Choosing a Token Sale Model
Creators select either TU or TL through the RugFreePump Create Coin interface before submitting their token creation transaction. The selected model is permanent once the sale is created. An existing TU sale cannot be converted to TL, and an existing TL sale cannot be converted to TU. For TL sales, the applicable token unlock percentage and interval are also permanently recorded at creation. When to Choose TU
TU may be appropriate for projects that prefer:- Immediate availability of all purchased tokens after migration.
- No gradual distribution restrictions.
- A simple, single-claim experience for buyers.
- Full buyer control over claimed tokens from the beginning of external trading.
When to Choose TL
TL may be appropriate for projects that prefer:- Gradual distribution of purchased tokens after migration.
- A predictable, predefined token release schedule.
- Purchased allocations becoming accessible over a defined period.
- Transparent unlock conditions that contributors can evaluate before buying.
Creator Responsibilities
Creators should accurately explain their selected model, especially when promoting a TL sale. Buyers should understand the applicable unlock percentage, interval, and when token unlocking begins. Neither model guarantees price stability, sustained demand, or project success. The protocol enforces the claiming conditions but does not guarantee a project’s credibility or future performance. For the complete launch process, see Creating a Bonding Curve Sale. For Token Buyers
Before contributing SOL, buyers should review the selected sale model and understand when they can access their purchased tokens.Buying Tokens
The buying process is the same for TU and TL. Buyers purchase through the bonding curve, and the protocol records their purchased token allocations on-chain. Tokens remain in the protocol-controlled token account during fundraising. They are not transferred to buyers’ wallets immediately after purchase. See Buying Bonding Curve Sale Tokens for purchasing instructions.Claiming Purchased Tokens
Claiming becomes available only after successful liquidity migration, not merely when the sale reaches its fundraising threshold.- TU buyers can claim their entire purchased allocation immediately after migration.
- TL buyers can claim the unlocked portion of their allocation as it becomes available. They may claim periodically or wait until a larger amount, including the full allocation, has unlocked.
